The History of Electrolysis
In 1869, Dr. Charles Michel, an ophthalmologist, wanted a safe and effective way to remove ingrown eyelashes which frequently led to blindness. His first scientific paper on the use of electrolysis was published in 1875. This method was accepted by the medical community, and then adapted for treatment of excess hair on other parts of the body. The same basic technique is still used today, only greatly improved and modernized.
